The filmmakers that are accepted into the festival compete for the "FREAKY" Award for outstanding achievement in 8 different categories which include BEST PICTURE, BEST FLORIDA HORROR FILM, BEST SHORT FILM, BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS, BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY, BEST FX MAKEUP, and AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD. We also give out a Lifetime Achievement Award to filmmakers who have made an impacted in the horror genre.

The "FREAKY" Award was designed and made by legendary Special FX Makeup Artist BARRY ANDERSON. Barry has worked on such classic horror films as "Day of the Dead" with FX Makeup Artist Tom Savini, and "Jeepers Creepers 1&2".
